Stuttgart 21: Alexis Gomes, Théo Lauly, Odin Gille. STI2D2

Stuttgart 21

What is this?

It's a german project to completely rearrange and modernize the railway junction in Stuttgart
The project start in 2010 and should be completed in 2020.

Why this project ?
This project is separate in seven part:
At the first the old railway station will be transformed
At the second time they build 9.5 kilometters of tunnel
At the third time a new railway station will be built on the north of the airport
Fourthly they build a part of the future line between the airport and the neckar ( a river )
Fifthly construction of underground lines and a bridge of 350 metters over the Neckar
Sixthly construction of a tunnel which is 6 kilometters connecting the two railway station ( Obertürkheim and Untertürkheim )

The advantage of stuttgart 21:
Stuttgart 21 must improve transportation wich are saturated in stuttgart.
Then  bury the station  will liberated almost 100 ha wich will be cleaned and converted to the developement of the city.

The majors drawbacks of Stuttgart 21

The majors drawbaks of Stuttgart 21 are the disproportionate cost and the local green spaces that the construction process will entail.

Opinions of Stuttgart's population?

Next to the political turn of this projet, we have interviewed a lots of persons and saw that most of the people that we have meet tell us that they find the project stupid, very expensive and that there will be a lot of competition between the news shops and the old shops. In Stuttgart most of the population is against this projet beacause of  it price and it ecological footprint.

This was an interesting experience to interact with people from a different place, we can talk easily with the help of English wich is commonly practiced by almost all young people with education, Then a lot of people that we met have responded to our question but some people was busy by their job .
